ONE ACT

Our high school One Act program gives students, grades 7-12, the opportunity to engage audiences in a format shorter than a full length play or musical. We typically perform twice; once for the home audience and once for competition.

Middle school One Act is for students in grades 5-8. This functions more as a learning opportunity in that the students will be critiqued by judges, but not compete against other schools.

Chess

The chess program meets once a week to help students develop strategies for playing a satisfying game against their opponents. This group is for 1st-12th graders and no experience is needed prior to joining the group.

Visual Arts

We are in need of a program administrator who can provide guidance to the participating students.
The Visual Arts Region and State Festivals will be held in April. These festivals are open to students in elementary (grades 1-5), middle (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 7-12). Events include:
Black & White Photography
Color Photography
Painting
Sculpture
Pencil/Charcoal Drawing
Color Drawing
Mixed Media
Printmaking
Expressing Faith Through Art
Digital Illustration (High School only)
Graphic Design (High School only)
All work must be original to the student and may have been started no earlier than June 1st, 2021.

Music

Elementary Music Class:
This class is designed to mirror the weekly music class experience that most public school students encounter. Each class will be centered on a specific musical concept with several activities aimed at helping the students gain mastery of the concept. Music can be experienced in a multitude of ways and classes will strive to incorporate singing, playing, reading, writing, creating, and moving to music as often as possible and in a fun way! This course would provide instruction in the basics of music theory and music history as well as music reading and playing. Classes will meet oncea week during the school year and last for 40-45 minutes each lesson.

Middle/High School Chorus:
This is a performance class. Students in this course will focus on building musical knowledge and skills in order to perform choral music at a high level. Students will be asked to learn music reading skills, basics of vocal technique, and how to sing in parts. Elements of music theory and music history will be presented also. The culmination of each semester’s work will be presented in a performance. Classes will meet once a week.
